Q6 Max in Black, Pearl or Pink: How to Choose Your Colour
The DayRoll TeamThe short answer: the Q6 Max now comes in Black, Pearl and Pink, and all three are the same camera inside. Same 75MP photos, same true built-in flash, same 4K video, same two batteries and 64GB card in the box, same price. The only thing you are choosing is how it looks in your hand, on the table and in the mirror selfie. So choose the one you will actually want to pick up.
Here is how we would think about the choice.
What is actually different between the three?
Nothing that changes a photo. We want to be clear about this because colour versions of a product sometimes hide small spec changes. These do not. Every Q6 Max, whatever the colour:
- Takes 75MP photos and 4K video
- Has a true built-in flash, the kind that creates the hard, bright early 2000s look
- Has a rotating flip screen for selfies, group shots and vertical video
- Has 18x digital zoom
- Comes with two rechargeable batteries, a 64GB SD card already installed, a USB-C cable and a wrist strap
- Transfers photos wirelessly to your phone, tablet or laptop
- Costs $189.95
So the question is purely which one suits you.
Black: the one that goes with everything
Black is the understated one. It disappears into a bag and looks right at a festival, a wedding or a work trip.
Pick Black if: you want the most understated option, you are buying for someone whose taste you are not sure of, or the camera is going to be passed around a group and you want it to feel like nobody's in particular.
Pearl: the clean, soft one
Pearl is the light, white option. It looks lighter and more delicate than Black, and it has that early 2000s silver-and-white gadget feel without being shiny.
Pick Pearl if: your style runs neutral and light, you like your tech to look calm rather than techy, or you want something that looks as good on a shelf as in your hand.
Pink: the statement one
Pink is the statement version. It is the one that gets noticed on the table at a party. If the whole point of carrying a camera is that it makes taking photos feel like an occasion again, Pink leans into that more than the other two.
Pick Pink if: you want your camera to feel like an accessory rather than a device, you are buying for a birthday or a 21st, or you already know you are the person in the group who ends up holding the camera all night.

Still stuck? A quick way to decide
| If you mostly... | We would pick |
|---|---|
| Want it to go with every outfit and every event | Black |
| Like a light, minimal, neutral look | Pearl |
| Want the camera itself to be part of the fun | Pink |
| Are buying a gift and are not sure | Black, or ask their favourite colour |
| Are buying two, one for you and one for a friend | Two different colours, so nobody grabs the wrong one |
Does the colour change the look of the photos?
No. The look comes from three things that are identical on all three versions: a small sensor with simple optics, a hard built-in flash, and no computational processing. That combination is what gives the photos their warm, soft, slightly grainy early 2000s character straight out of the camera. The body colour has nothing to do with it.
If you want to push the look further, the Q6 Max has built-in filters and effects, sepia included, and you can lower the resolution for a softer, more nostalgic result. We go into that in our guide to getting the early 2000s look.
Want the full kit?
Every colour is also available as a kit with the DayRoll Mini Camera Tripod and the Shockproof Canvas Camera Bag, for $249.95 instead of $289.95 if you bought the three separately. The tripod is the underrated part: it turns the flip screen into a proper group shot setup, no arm-length selfies required.

“Such a cute little camera. So easy and fun to use.”

Questions we get asked
Is Pearl white?
Yes, Pearl is our white. Colours always look slightly different from screen to screen, so check the photos on the product page. If it is not right, unused cameras in their original packaging can be returned within 60 days for a change of mind (return postage is on you, and we cover it for anything faulty).
What shade is the Pink?
The product page photos are the best guide. If the exact shade matters for a gift, remember that unused cameras in their original packaging can be returned within 60 days for a change of mind (return postage is on you, and we cover it for anything faulty).
Do all three colours cost the same?
Yes. $189.95 for the camera, or $249.95 for the kit with tripod and canvas bag.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days, then free tracked shipping usually takes 8 to 10 business days to Australia and 6 to 10 to New Zealand. Priority shipping at checkout brings that to an estimated 5 to 8 business days.
Can I print the photos?
Yes. The DayRoll Pocket Printer prints straight from your phone once the photos are transferred, and it comes with 25 sheets of photo paper.
